I am Dudás Zita, the newest member of Toppantó’s small team. I carry on the love of cultural preservation as a family heritage, my mother tried to pass it on to me as an enthusiastic, artisan kindergarten teacher. My career as a dancer also started in Tiszaújváros at the age of 6 and in Eger, then it continued in Mezőkövesd in the– listed as a World Heritage Site – Matyó Néptáncegyüttes. I am an active member of this team for 14 years now. As a teacher I have dealt with all age groups, from preschoolers through primary and secondary schools to teaching adults. As a dance teacher, I am looking for the forms and ways of expression in which folklore can be an enjoyable and exciting experience for the people of the 21st century. I have been a dancer in the Kiss Kata Zenekar since its inception. Here, in both dance and stage movement, I try to convey how beautifully the world of authentic and modern music and rhythm can be connected. Both as a dancer and an instructor, my most important goal is the authentic acquisition of Hungarian folk dance and the authentic, entertaining transmission of its traditions. It is important for me that the positive reinforcements give the children a sense of success by working, playing and dancing together.
